Artist Statement

Epilepsy changed the way I see time, possibility, and the strange little miracle of being here at all.

It reminds you that life is not nearly as predictable as you’d like to believe. Plans can change. Your body can surprise you. Suddenly, the ordinary stuff feels a lot more important.

Creativity has become one of the ways I make sense of that.

Making things gives me somewhere to put all the noise. It lets me turn experiences I can’t always explain into something I can see, touch, laugh at, or share. It gives me a sense of agency when my body occasionally seems determined to remind me who’s actually in charge.

I use that creativity loudly, imperfectly, and unapologetically because apparently being alive is a pretty good reason to make something weird.
