Artist Statement

Having endured the mind-numbing effects of numerous seizure episodes, digital art has become my path to mental clarity. The act of creating shapes, patterns, and textures helps restore order to my mind. Art is a daily ritual for me. From the moment I wake up, something I read or a single image can spark a synapse in my brain, igniting a need to create. Resistance is futile; I must make a picture.

My digital collages are layered with elements that represent subconscious thoughts. Often, I don’t fully understand why I’ve included a particular image or shape until long after the piece is complete.
