“Sin Cabesa” is a new work that continues the EEG graph series. I have had many EEGs and began to think that an EEG is visual, not just numerical. I hide my head with a cloud, thinking that’s constantly one way I see or feel myself.

My thoughts are hidden behind or in the cloud. The lines represent the EEG graphs that separate me. In many of my images, my head is not there, but I’m represented in objects.  The title is in Spanish because that’s how I feel, think, or believe who I am.

By combining elements of self-portraiture with symbolism and abstraction, he seeks to convey his subjective experience of having seizures as well as the medical evaluations and measurements that accompany the condition. He comments, sometimes disembodied, sometimes clinical, sometimes mystical: the images attempt to communicate my varied experiences with epilepsy.
