Put Me Back Together is about the temporary and permanent memory loss I have experienced due to epilepsy. Talking and making work about my epilepsy has been the driving force behind my art practice during college. It has led me to understand myself better and helped me build relationships with other people who have a hidden disability or those who simply want to learn about it.
I am a rising sculpture senior at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston. Throughout my college career, my art practice has centered around my experience with epilepsy, giving physical form to its symptoms and associated feelings. I have dealt with this disorder since I was a child, and making art about my experience has helped me better understand myself and teach others about what having an invisible disorder is like. Discovering the Hidden Truths Project helped me realize that many other artists out there have a similar experience to me, and being a part of this show means a great deal to me and my growth as an artist.
