As a caregiver of my son with epilepsy, Lake Michigan has been my calming spot to grab stillness and gratitude. The water rushing over my toes would provide calm on a day that sometimes wasn’t. “August” is inspired by the beach days where you can barely tell where the water meets the sky. I am a painter and metalsmith who uses art to make a difference for those with epilepsy by donating 100% of my proceeds to the cause.
